Project Description

The main objective of this LEONARDO-DA-VINCI partnership project (Nr. 2010-1-DE2-LEO04-04765-1) is to work out a number of interactive CEFR based content and language integrated learning modules in English for apprentices in electronics, metal and wood working. The modules themselves are internet based learning platforms and comprise social and technical tasks. The project was launched in 12-2010 and will be finished by 04-2012.

In initial counseling interviews students of vocational colleges in different countries will be interviewed and assessed according to their language proficiency (cf. CEFR) and technical skills. Clearly, they take part in the I2MOVE project voluntarily. They can then find an appropriate partner in another country. First, the partners will explore the respective cultural and regional backgrounds. They will then have to carry out a tangible technical project, which can be the construction of a small machine or technical components within a given space of time. At a final stage they have to evaluate their work process and present the results to fellow students, trainers, teachers. Finally, they can be rewarded an official project certificate.
